You can use our
sample letter to pastors
as a guide and rewrite it in your own words to adapt it for church leaders, youth group leaders, educators, civic group leaders, and others.
You can also share supporting materials such as those listed below. Most
people on all "sides" of this issue don't realize that most
abortions are unwanted or coerced and that a significant number are forced.
This defies stereotypes about "choice" as widely assumed and reflects the
abortion industry's assault and risk to the rights and lives of both the
unborn and women. It also reflects a need for outreach to:
educate, motivate and end abortion with
compassion
warn those at risk,
including parents of teens at risk of coercion
or aftereffects
help those being
coerced or forced
heal
those already hurt
mourn both the
children and mothers lost to abortion or homicide
Help educate leaders that abortion endangers the rights and lives of both the unborn and women
and that its heartbreaking aftermath further endangers those enduring
post-abortion grief, injury or trauma alone. Ask
leaders to speak out and to support authentic rights for women, children and
families.
Ask pastors to preach about these injustices, as well as God's infinite
mercy and forgiveness.
To reach even more people, write to print and
online religious
media, too, such as your church or diocesan newspapers, magazines and
newsletters.
